The Accounts Payable Administrator is responsible for processing vendor invoices, issuing payments, and responding to accounts payable inquiries. Your strong organization skills and attention to detail will ensure all AP transactions are completed timely and accurately with respect to established deadlines. In addition, you will be called upon to contribute to process improvements with the goal of achieving greater efficiency and improved service.
Perform day-to-day and month-end accounting activities
• Review and verifies vendor invoices and cheque requests
• Accurately process vendor invoices and payments
• Maintain AP inbox and respond to AP inquiries
• Investigate and follow up on receiving and purchase order discrepancies
• Process purchase order receiving for non-physical items
• Record and reconcile corporate credit cards
• Reconcile accounts payable transactions
• Record monthly accruals and journal entries
• Record intercompany transactions
• Assist in ad hoc month-end closing activities
• Support and back-fill other finance functions within the finance team as required
• Assemble information for external auditors for the annual audit
• Maintain offsite/onsite storage and records management
• Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements
• Comply with internal controls and company policies and procedures and maintain confidentiality

Qualifications:

• Experience working in a Finance department, specifically working in Accounts Payable
• Post-secondary diploma or degree in accounting or related discipline
• Well-organized and detail-oriented
• Proven ability to work well in a team
• Excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to multitask and maintain attention to detail and accuracy while meeting deadlines
• Drive to provide best service to internal and external stakeholders
• Ability to dig to root of problems and understand processes
